The word Soma comes from the Greek, meaning "the living body in its wholeness." In a world that asks you to perform, mask, and produce, somatic work is the radical act of returning to yourself. Unlike traditional fitness—which views the body as a machine to be sculpted from the outside in—somatics is an inside-out practice.
We shift the focus from how your body looks to how it functions as a container for your consciousness. By communicating directly with your nervous system through internal perception, we stop "fixing" the body and start inhabiting it. This is the process of making your body a safe place to live.
For women, strength training is far more than an aesthetic tool; it is a foundational requirement for long-term autonomy. Beyond metabolic health and bone density, resistance training is a tangible practice of boundary-setting.
Every time you push against resistance, you are neurologically practicing your ability to take up space and exert your will. Strength training provides the functional "armor" that protects your joints and spine, ensuring that your physical structure is capable of supporting the weight of your big, expansive life.
Your fascia is a vast, spider-web-like connective tissue system that wraps around every muscle, nerve, and organ. When we experience chronic stress, this "biological fabric" becomes bound and sticky, creating adhesions that trap tension and repressed emotion.
Myofascial Release (MFR) uses sustained pressure to "melt" these restrictions. By restoring fluid glide to your tissues, we resolve the "mysterious" chronic pain that often stems from a system that has forgotten how to let go.
You have spent years "white-knuckling" and people pleasing your way to success. You are the high-achiever who is intimately familiar with the identity of being high-functioning. You are likely neurodivergent, dealing with cycles of burnout, or living in functional freeze, and have spent a lifetime masking to fit into a neurotypical world.
If you feel disconnected from your physical self—lkiving entirely "from the neck up"—and your body feels like a source of sensory overwhelm rather than a source of strength, you are in the right place.
